Bol Bachchan

It has been sometime since I saw the movie and I am afraid a little late in putting up my very own review. Rohit Shetty and his genre has now become his trademark self and has the distinctive style to it. One has also started witnessing a sort of "favourites" being casted in cinemas. Yash Chopra camp or Karan Johar camp or Vidhu Vinod Chopra camp etc. and now add in Rohit Shetty camp. In that you can add in Krishna (of Comedy Circus fame) who has a substantial footage in the cinema. Surprising, because Raju and his contemporary inspite of being so talented never really could break into cinema. Given this is Krishna's first outing (maybe he has had a few cinema before this, I do not know!) he is confident and his usual self, funny and confident. The movie is (as Rohit claims) inspired from the classic Golmaal (will such cinemas or brand of cinemas be made again?) and that is about it. Ajay plays the local goon/pehelwan/dada supported by Abhishek (never really in sync with the pace) and add in Asin and Prachi. There is loads of funny one liners (Ajay has the best lines reserved from him, did I see him as the producer of the movie!), gaffs, punches and of course Rohit's class stunts (car chase, crashes and breakages).

The plot is simple and does not really sway at any point in time. The strength of the movie actually lies in here. The screenplay is strong and the connect is never lost between scenes. Each one puts in the best of the effort. Be it Ajay's english or Asin's dilemma of speaking the truth or not, Krishna's endearing support for Abhishek, Archana Puran Singh in the imitable self and Asrani in an important pivotal role.

The scenes that stand out, of course Ajay's english (enough (read enogh) is enough, I will remind you of milk no. 6 (main tumhe chati kad dhud yaad dila dunga) etc. etc. Krishna and his opening act is really good and so are all the support stars. Asin and Prachi are lost and the songs are above average. Abhishek never really stood out (somebody please help the guy, he needs counselling).

Bol Bachchan is a one time must see and it will help you relax, unwind and breathe easy, almost like a spa (rejuvenates the mind and body). All for just Rs. 200/- only.
